InLine, LLC was built around a simple idea: the electrical & communication infrastructure that keeps traffic flowing, runways lit, and sites powered is too important to be an afterthought on someone else's schedule.
We have been at it since 1992, when InLine was founded in Birmingham, Alabama as a computer and network integration company. Internet access followed in 1994 and wireless broadband in 1995. In 1996, on the heels of the Telecommunications Act, InLine became one of the first Competitive Local Exchange Carriers in the country, and we spent the next decade building and operating fiber and wireless networks across Alabama and Mississippi for schools, government agencies, and businesses.
In 2006 we partnered with ALDOT on Alabama's first Hurricane Evacuation Intelligent Transportation System along I-65. That job pointed the company in a new direction. Fourteen years of designing, building, owning, and operating networks turned out to be exactly the background public infrastructure work calls for. We sold our telecom network interests in 2015 to focus on intelligent infrastructure full time.
We did not just install fiber. We owned and operated several thousand miles of middle-mile fiber across Alabama and Mississippi, which means we know what it takes to keep a network running long after the build crew leaves. It shows in how we build each one.
Based in Mobile, Alabama — with our corporate office in Theodore and offices in Birmingham, AL and Jacksonville, AR — we self-perform ITS, traffic signal, roadway and bridge lighting, airport lighting, electrical, and fiber and wireless construction for DOTs, municipalities, airport authorities, developers, and general contractors across the Southeast.
Whether we're operating as a large-scale prime or as a subcontractor on someone else's team, the standard is the same: safe crews, clean installs, and systems that work on day one — and year ten.
